One of the films that I liked the most was Akira, it is an anime movie directed by Katsuhiro Otomo released on July 16, 1988 in Japan.
The film takes place in the Neo-Tokyo in 2019 (this year: O), which is built on the ruins of ancient Tokyo that was destroyed in the third world war. The latent political crisis in Japan leads the military to secretly authorize studies to find individuals who can control "absolute power". At the same time, in the streets of Neo -Tokyo Kaneda, the leader of a biker gang fights with his best friend Tetsuo. But Tetsuo suffers a strange accident and enters the military installations. Inside the facilities, scientists discover that he has "absolute energy" due to the accident he suffered. I really like this movie because the plot is very interesting, since the futuristic vision is devastating and surreal, it touches deep themes and the animation is very good
